Complaint:

My family and I recently arrived at Incirlik and applied to receive a two bedroom house at the housing office. They told us the wait time for us would be at a minimum of three weeks before we would be notified that a house was available, and after we move in, they said we would possibly have to move in six months or less due to renovations. They also told us that there are houses in the new housing division that are empty and ready to be occupied, but we could not move into them because they are for officers only.

Our TMO stuff is also here, but they won't deliver it until we get a house.

My problem is that my family of three has been living out of suitcase for the past week and will be living in the same conditions for the next three weeks at least. I would also like to get my TMO shipment because it contains our bicycles which we could use as transportation around the installation.

Is there any way enlisted families can live in these houses too, and if not why are more two bedrooms not offered? I understand there might be a housing wait list, but if houses are unoccupied why can't we, and other families, live there.

Response:

I understand your concern and trust me: we want to move new families, like yours, into houses as soon as possible. We have reevaluated our housing inventory and worked with our maintenance teams to eliminate the housing wait list. If you haven't been contacted by our housing office already, you will be shortly with your housing assignment.

For your information: Falcon and the new Eagle Housing encompass enlisted, officer and civilian housing. Phantom Housing is designated as enlisted and civilian equivalent only. Both Falcon and Phantom Housing include two, three, and four bedroom houses. The new Eagle Housing is only four bedroom houses. Families such as yours, entitled to a two bedroom house, have assignment possibilities in either Phantom or Falcon.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and I hope you enjoy your newly assigned house.
