Action line 80912 - 2nd and E Street

INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey --  Complaint:

I think the yield sign at 2nd and E may be doing more harm than good. I work at Bldg 480 and park in the lot south of the building. When I am driving on E street coming from the gate, I have yet to see anyone yield to me as I turn left into the parking lot. Most likely, they think that I am continuing north on 2nd rather than turning into the lot. Perhaps the yield sign should be removed. Anyone driving south on 2nd should automatically know to yield when taking a left turn onto E.

Thank you for your concern with the safety of driving on base.

You're right: that yield sign is unnecessary. I've had the same question myself, but since I don't drive it every day it has slipped my mind. We are looking to remove the yield sign and repaint the traffic lines in that intersection to help prevent any confusion. Bear with us, this won't happen overnight as this is a Turkish base and we need their approval to make any changes.
