Action line 80908 - Running triangle Published Oct. 27, 2008 By Anonymous 39th Air Base Wing Public Affairs INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey -- Complaint: I am concerned about the running area at the triangle. It is an official site for PT testing, but the road is in a deplorable condition. I have become more aware of it especially since I've sprained my ankle and have to be more cautious. Since our focus is on "Fit to Fight," is there plans to resurface that portion of the road to make it safer? Response: Thank you for your concern with the safety of our community and the appearance of its facilities and roads. There are plans to repave the east end of A Street and Security Forces Access Road that we refer to as the triangle, unfortunately they will not take place in the near term. The plan to repave will take place in three phases, scheduled for FY10, 11 and 12. As an alternative to running on the road there is also a 2m wide compacted gravel shoulder starting at building 682 near the "Go-Kart Track" and ends at Patriot Village (approximately 1.3 miles long). This compacted shoulder is labeled as the actual running track and is an alternative to running on the road. Your other alternative is of course the running track near the school, this is also a approved location for PT tests and I actually prefer it as it permits better pacing and it's cushioned! Continue with your PT program and good-luck on your next PT test.
