Action Line #81105 – Bowling center parking

Complaint:

I'm writing in regards to the two reserved spots for the Bowling Center's delivery vehicles. Is there a reason why these reserved spots have to be next to the Child Development Center.

Due to the overwhelming amount of vehicle traffic and limited amount of space available for parents picking up their children before and after duty hours, this makes it difficult during rush hour traffic to find a place to park. In addition to this hassle, having oversize vehicles in these spaces, such as the delivery trucks makes it difficult to see when backing out of the surrounding parking spaces. This presents a hazard for both the driver and passing vehicles.

If at all possible, can these delivery spots be moved to the parking lot on the side of the Bowling Center? This parking lot is rarely used and is in a closer proximity to the center itself, therefore making the situation more convenient for the driver and for parents in need of the current reserved spots.

Response:

Thank you for brining this issue to my attention. You have a great point and after receiving your input we have made some changes which I think should alleviate some of the parking congestion in front of the Child Development Center.

First, we will relocate the delivery vehicle spaces from in front of the Bowling Center to one of the sides.

Second, we have directed our employees who work at the CDC and the Bowling Center to use alternate parking lots so that those customers dropping off children are able to use the spaces closest to the CDC.

You bring up another great point about large vehicles parking in the small spaces along D Street. We have noticed that this is a safety hazard and signs will be posted along D Street from the Fitness Center to the CDC informing customers that parking is for small/ mid size cars only. Folks driving large vans and trucks will be asked to park in the Bowling Center parking lot. I realize this may be a bit of a walk for some folks going to the Fitness Center or the Dining Facility, but it will be safer for all.

Thank you for the great idea and I hope you continue to look for ways to improve Incirlik AB.
