Action line 81127 - Cash cage

Complaint:

I went to the cashier's cage this morning (Nov 26) at 8:50 a.m. and, as it was Wednesday, the cashier's cage should have been open. I was told it was not open this morning and it would not be open at its normal afternoon hours either because it was a training day.

The problem is nothing was announced ahead of time and the hours on Tuesday were not extended either. On a 4-day weekend this is not very customer oriented and I'm sure has inconvenienced and upset the plans of many people.

Response:

Sorry: we didn't forewarn our customers sufficiently. However, we always close the cash cage on wing training days which are the last duty day of the month. In the future, a reminder will be sent out via the CAC about the Financial Services Section/Cashier Window's Wing Training Day, USAFE Goal Day, USAFE Family Day, and Federal Holiday closures. We'll also post that notice of closures in the monthly CPTS newsletter disseminated throughout the wing.

Please remember that there are other options: you can cash checks at the BX for amounts up to $300; if you have a club card, you may cash checks up to $300 for dollars and lira, manager approval required for more; and lastly, ATMs are located in various areas of the base where you may get dollars/lira.

Sorry we forgot to post the reminder this time, but for future reference, remember they will always be closed on the last duty day of the month so they can participate in training day. Thanks for taking the time to write.
