Action Line 90107 – Dining Facility Requirements Published Feb. 17, 2009 By Anonymous 39th Air Base Wing Public Affairs INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey -- Complaint: I have been noticing more and more that VBR and other non-meal cardholders have been eating regularly at the dining facility. They start showing up just before the dining facility closes during each meal. I also have noticed what seems to be a raise in prices. I usually get the same thing for breakfast every day, but I rarely pay the same price. I would like to thank you in advance for your assistance in this matter. Response: Thank you for your vigilance in helping to ensure that only authorized customers are utilizing the Sultan's Inn. You are correct to note that the primary mission of the dining facility is our meal card holders. However, now that the Sultan's Inn has reopened other categories of personnel are once again authorized per my policy letter dated 10 Aug 07. The letter may be viewed at either www.39fss.com by following the dining facility link or at the Sultan's Inn. The VBR personnel you've noticed are in fact food service personnel who are authorized meals while on shift. They dine at the very end of the meal period during their break time and before preparations for the next meal get underway. Concerning pricing: the dining facility operates under the a la carte system which means individual menu items/recipes are priced based on their individual cost or the cost of ingredients used to prepare them. Our computer data base automatically determines the price per portion based on prices which are updated weekly. Products such as fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy items, and breads may change more dramatically week to week based on seasonal availability and environmental conditions. If you believe there is a pricing problem with the specific items you are selecting, please keep your receipts and contact the dining facility manager at DSN 676-6016. Thanks for the call and welcome back to the newly reopened Sultan's Inn.
