Complaint:

First I would like to say the fitness personnel at the gym are excellent. I lost my daughter's backpack and called the gym and the gentleman who answered the phone put me on hold and actually visually checked for the backpack. I was very impressed and grateful that he would take the time to look for the item. I am also always greeted by a friendly smile and hello, and on my way out, the same. GREAT JOB!!!

My question today is in regards to the area of the gym where parents with children can safely workout. I have made several trips to this area, only to have to turn around and go home because it was full of people without children. This area has limited space and limited pieces of equipment, so it fills up quickly. Is there any way to expand this area or limit the area EXCLUSIVELY to people who actually have their children with them? And then have the front desk enforce this?

Response:

First of all, thank you for your kind words about our fitness center personnel. They work hard to ensure our visits are as enjoyable as possible and always appreciate hearing their efforts are well received.

Secondly, we apologize you have had to cancel your workouts because the parent child area was full of patrons without children. The sole purpose of this area is to cater to our customers who, like you, have children who need a safe area to play while their parents exercise. The staff has been traditionally lenient during periods of peak usage (typically 0600 - 0700 hrs) as equipment becomes scarce, but we have directed them to be more diligent throughout the day as they conduct their safety checks and work on the floor.

If you find the parent-child area occupied by patrons without children, remind them that the area is primarily for parents that bring their children to the gym and ask them to relinquish the equipment. If they are not willing to do so, notify the front desk staff, who will clear the area.
