Action Line #90702 -- Shuttle Schedule

Complaint:

This morning my daughter and I left the house to catch the 8:06 shuttle bus from the chapel. Imagine my surprise when we saw it arrive and leave the bus stop at 7:57; either 11 minutes late or 9 minutes early; we couldn't tell. What's the point of a shuttle bus schedule that isn't followed? A few minutes deviation is normal. But with only a 20-minute bus route, how hard is it to stay within 2-4 minutes of the posted time? I had heard my daughter's complaints during school since that's how she gets to school, but this is the first time I've taken the shuttle bus and now I can verify her complaints. We had the time to walk to our destination, but what about the active duty people who count on the bus to get them to their jobs? Do supervisors mind if their airmen are 11 minutes late? And I know taxis are available but that is a last resort. What can be done about the apparent uselessness of the schedule or the inability of the drivers to adhere to the schedule?

Response:

Thanks for writing and sorry for your frustration. The posted bus schedules are very new, only a few months old and are really on a trial. As you point out, the entire route only takes 20 minutes so delays between buses should be minimal even if you just miss one. That said, we are reminding our bus drivers to stick with the schedule to the best of their ability.
