Action Line #90706 -- Broken Western Union Machine Published July 22, 2009 39th Air Base Wing Public Affairs INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey -- Complaint: I have been trying to send money to my family overseas from the Western Union machine at the BX; however, the machine is broken. I was told the off-base technician was being called, and then the technician stated the computer was broken and needed to be fixed. If he couldn't fix it, then it would have to be replaced. It has been over a week and still no working Western Union computer. I tried online and the system failed to work even after contacting customer support. I then went downtown and was charged $42 instead of the $12 on-base price. Can we get the computer fixed? Response: Thank you for writing us about the problem with the Western Union machine. I would first like to apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. The Western Union technician found the computer to be non-repairable, and a new unit had to be sent from Western Union Corp. to the Incirlik Main Store. They sent it via UPS from Colorado, and we are expecting it Friday, July 17, 2009. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience, but nobody was wasting time on this one, it takes a long time to import equipment to Turkey. Relief is on its way!
