Action Line #90718 -- Housing Curfew Published Aug. 21, 2009 39th Air Base WIng Public Affairs INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey -- Complaint: I see that enforcing quiet hours has been addressed already, but I will like to mention that your quiet hours do not work; at least not in my neighborhood. I and several other neighbors have repeatedly asked a group of kids that hang out in our neighborhood to be quiet at night, usually around 11 p.m. It has done us no good and now these kids are ringing our doorbells at 2:30 in the morning. Like I said, it is happening to several people in our neighborhood. Your quiet hours work for us mature adults but for the kids who parents don't keep track of them and let them stay out all hours of the night, it is doing nothing!!! I am active duty and my husband also works full time on base. We do not need to be getting kept up late at night or getting woken up once we are asleep. I really hope you are able to address this situation. Response: Thanks for giving me the opportunity to remind our people that quiet hours exist between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. throughout the installation. We are advertising this on the CAC and AFN radio. Everyone should know. We have also increased our security forces patrols throughout the housing areas...we have even begun foot patrols. In the event your neighbors are not adhering to this standard or if the noise level exceeds a reasonable threshold, please contact the Security Forces Law Enforcement Desk at 676-3200. Regardless of the time, Security Forces patrols will certainly assist in enforcing the standards and ensuring a quiet and enjoyable quality of life for your family. Please be respectful of others.
