Action Line #90805 -- Customer Service Hours

Complaint:

There are personnel on this base that can't always break from their jobs during what is considered normal working hours, not to mention personnel working odd shifts. If there is something simple they must accomplish, they either have to schedule weeks in advance to ensure their job is covered or lose sleep to get there while these services are open. Sometimes these appointments require both the member and the spouse to attend. This can complicate scheduling even more if the spouse works or they cannot find someone to watch dependents.

Last time I was stationed at Ramstein, they had one day a month in which all basic services worked until Midnight. It even had one of those special operation names. This allowed members the flexibility to take care of personal matters if they had been having problems getting there while they were open. Or maybe they could change their duty hours from 0730 - 1630 to 0900 - 1800. That would allow the flex time people may need after work to take care of personal business.

What would it take to implement something along these lines? The services I was thinking about include the MPF, Finance, Medic & Dental, Pass & ID, Legal, Postal, and similar services.

Response:

Fortunately our numbers at Incirlik are much smaller than Ramstein and we believe we can give more personalized services. If an individual needs to see an agency and for duty reasons cannot make it during normal working hours, please contact the agency involved and ask to make an appointment. Our customer service agencies are truly customer oriented and will work with you on establishing a time that benefits you.
