Action Line #91007 – Internet pricing Published Oct. 21, 2009 By 39th Air Base Wing Public Affairs INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey -- Complaint: Back in July an action line was put in about non club members not being able to pay monthly. The response to that action line was they were going to change this policy so all internet customers could utilize this payment option. My question is when is this going to happen? That action line was July and it is now October and they are still making me pay three months at a time. The main reason why I want it changed is I want to try the new ADSL high speed service but don't want to commit to 3 months of service if it's not any faster than regular. I have heard lots of people say the faster service isn't much better. I want to see if it's any better but don't feel like I should have to pay three month's worth of service to try out their new service. My next payment is Due Oct. 26 it would be great if you could get this resolved by then. Response: We appreciate your question, as this provides us a great way to help educate the community on the ADSL program we have at Incirlik. The 39th Force Support Squadron is the only squadron supplying a private internet service to base housing residents in the Air Force. Therefore, they are incorporating and adapting computer programs designed for other activities to work with the ADSL billing program. At first glance, we thought it would be easy to take a program used for Club Card processing and make it fit our needs for the ADSL program. Unfortunately it was not as simple as it looked on the surface. Paying with a non-club card isn't a matter of policy. We simply do not have the capacity to set up reoccurring payments on cards that are not part of the club system at this time. We have contacted the AF subject matter expert who has begun working to help us find a solution. We ask for your continued patience as we do so. In the mean time, our ADSL office has been working hard to provide the best possible service to the base. We have adapted the pricing structure and packages offered to provide improved service at the lowest cost to the customer. I encourage you to consider paying with a club card. Under the new pricing structure if you pay with this card you can have automatic monthly payments set-up. Moreover, the discount for paying this way exceeds club dues, effectively making membership free! If you do sign up for the higher service and are not pleased with the speed, you can reduce the speed and receive a full refund on the remaining balance.
