Keepin’ it Reel: Zombieland Published Nov. 16, 2009 39th Air Base Wing Public Affairs INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey -- Synopsis: In a world where pretty much everyone is a zombie, four people learn to trust each other in an effort to find an unaffected part of the U.S. The zombie disease originated from mad cow disease and has spread to humans through tainted beef. Once infected, people have a ravenous appetite ... for human flesh. They Call me Roy Zombieland: Movie kill of the week These weren't your typical zombies -- they were fast. Hence rule number one for surviving a zombiepocolypse: Good cardio. You must follow the rules of zombie survival. They arrive at random throughout this movie and most of them really make sense. I've often found myself thinking some of these things while watching the classic horror movies. If you don't like gratuitous blood, I wouldn't see this movie. And even if you do like gratuitous blood, please don't take your kids. This movie is rated R for a reason. And that is the very reason I loved this movie. I happen to love gratuitous violence and crude humor. I really like Woody Harrelson. He's made some questionable movie role decisions over the years (Natural Born Killers), but this was great. He was hilarious in this. And Jesse Eisenberg was a great straight man next to his over-the-top comedy. This movie made me wish there really was a zombiepocolypse so I could get my own zombie kill of the week. I'm thinking something involving artillery ... yeah. In the meantime, I need to work on my cardio. The Dexter Zombieland: Twinkies, blood and 406 I have been waiting for Zombieland to come out for months. I must say that disappointment seems to follow when I rev myself up for something great, but I do believe Zombieland lived up to my expectations. For being pretty gnarly when it came to blood galore, humor trickled in from all sides in a pleasurable stream of greatness. I'm not sure if Jesse Eisenberg was trying to be a Michael Cera incarnate, but he was quite entertaining and seeing Woody Harrelson again and NOT ruin his role was a refresher. I enjoyed the fact that instead of using names, they called each other by the state they were either found in, or were heading to. And there was a lot of potty humor, which is ALWAYS entertaining. I've actually even Wikipedia'd the "Rules" from Columbus' list and wrote them down. I've added a few here and there. Do YOU know how to survive a zombie uprising? There are some great Zombie movies out there, but Zombieland really hits multiple spots to make it an "all-in-one" kind of feature. The film is definitely not for children and some of the scenes make an adult, testosterone filled male, cringe. Go. See. It ... now please. And, I'm not great at farewells, so uh ... that'll do pig. Narghile Nightingale Zombieland: Putting the 'gore' in 'agoraphobic' The movie follows a geeky college shut-in named Columbus, (Jesse Eisenberg) and his make-shift zombie killing A-team across country, in search for other survivors. This movie is definitely more sick humor than goose bump raising thriller. There are "zombie kills of the week," a strange set of survival rules, zombie children and even a guest appearance by Bill Murray. This movie's post-apocalyptic energy and humor make you want to watch it over and over again! I give it two zombie butt-kicking, twinkie eating, thumbs up! Editor's Note: Agree? Disagree? Don't care?
