INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey --  I am writing to thank AFN for spreading the word about the coupons available
on military installations. Education regarding this benefit has been sorely
lacking. Until recently at this installation, nobody told newcomers coupons
could be used at the commissaries overseas for six months after their
expiration date. The Army USAREUR guide has a page on the benefits of DECA
which offers this information to newcomers.

Additionally, no one knew where the coupons were since it had not been
shared at the newcomer's briefing. Many folks who used the thrift shop,
where the coupons had been placed, didn't know they were there. I recently
visited the commissary and was pleased to see bags of coupons available. It
is silly to have to go into the command building just to pick up coupons
since so many are mailed to this base. Coupons should be available where
folks can easily pick them up; no one should have to make an extra trip just
to do so. So thanks to AFN and the new coupon volunteer for dispensing this
information as well as the coupons!
