Action Line #100107–Hobby Shop Published March 5, 2010 By 39th Air Base Wing Public Affairs INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey -- Complaint: It was brought to my attention today that the new auto hobby shop is closed every Monday. Well, my complaint is that I do not like other people working on my vehicle and I like to do it myself and can only do it on Monday. Can the auto hobby shop be open Monday through Friday like the Web site says? Response: In January of 2008, we tested opening the Auto Hobby Shop on Mondays in order to offer additional time for our do it yourself customers. After tracking customer use, it turned out that stall usage on Mondays was less than 20 hours during the entire year. Additionally, it pulled two mechanics from working on Saturdays, our busiest day of DIY work. It also limited the Saturday services we could provide to those who preferred to drop off their vehicles for repair. There simply wasn't enough participation to make opening for DIY on Mondays a viable option. We are constantly working to meet the needs of our clientele, but that entails making decisions that are the best for the entire community. In 2009, Auto Hobby hours were adjusted in order to best serve the needs of the Incirlik community. I would also like to say thanks for pointing out the error on our Web site, it has been corrected.
