Action Line #100213 – Bus Schedule Published March 30, 2010 By 39th Air Base Wing Public Affairs INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey -- Complaint: I have been using the shuttle off and on since we arrived. I'm very thankful for this service, and am especially glad they now continue to run all day (I was here when it didn't run from 10am - 1pm). What can be done about encouraging the drivers to stick better to the suggested time schedules that are posted? I catch the shuttle by the front gate almost every afternoon. I plan to get there 10 minutes before its show time (3:00 pm), and about 4 times a week I am running for the bus at 2:50pm as it pulls away. They aren't even supposed to arrive until 3:00 pm and then every 20 minutes thereafter. The schedule seems to be getting more and more off. The drivers are barely sitting at the ATM stop and Hodja now (I thought they were supposed to sit 5 minutes at the ATM and Hodja). I see new drivers all the time and feel that they are continuing not to be well versed in their duties. Is there anything that can be done to resolve this? Response: Thanks for bringing this to our attention. The posted Base Shuttle times are only an approximation, but the buses should be running fairly close to the posted times. Different road and traffic variables may affect the timing of the actual route, so there will be variations. However, we are working to minimize Vehicle Management has briefed all its drivers about the importance of staying as close to the posted scheduled times as possible. In addition, our drivers will call Vehicle Ops at a couple of points along their routing to ensure they are on schedule. Additionally, we have begun to conduct spot checks in order to ensure our drivers are staying as close to posted time as possible. We will continue to monitor the situation in order to provide the best possible service in the future. Thanks for riding the Base Shuttle!
