INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey --  Complaint:
I heard the Turkish BX is closing, is there anything that can be done about this? This is a great place to shop and offers a lot better variety and wider prices (appealing to all ranks) than the Turkish Bazaar. As well, they do excellent packing at reasonable prices for mailing boxes back to the states, which is a great asset for TDY and Permanent change of station time. Can anything be done?

I appreciate you giving me the opportunity to address this issue. The Turkish BX has been a great asset for years to Incirlik; unfortunately, our host command informed us that the facility would have to close pursuant to Turkish Armed Forces Law #3212 unless the 39th Air Base Wing contracted directly with them. Given the current fiscal restraints and that, while beneficial, the Turkish BX is not a necessity, we could not contract this service at this time.
