Colonel Eric Beene, 39th Air Base Wing commander, addressed approximately 60 members of the Incirlik community at a Town Hall meeting in the Club Complex here Sept. 7.

Colonel Beene discussed upcoming base events and inspections, the wing's mission, and the wing's partnership with its Turkish host.

After the colonel's opening discussion, the audience was addressed by several members from the base's leadership to include the 39th Medical Group, the 39th Mission Support Group, the 39th Force Support Squadron, the 39th Civil Engineer Squadron, the 39th Communication Squadron and the safety office.

One of the topics covered was the construction projects around the base. Some of the projects include three new replacement dormitories, Phantom and Falcon housing renovations, and a new consolidated Community Center.

"The town hall meeting was very beneficial, specifically when Civil Engineer briefed on the constructions and renovations in housing," said Irma Avery, 39th FSS community readiness consultant. "I live in base housing and I had no idea if I would be affected or not."

The Town Hall also served as a forum to answer several questions and address concerns from the audience.

"Town hall meetings are not only a great opportunity to get together, spread the word and make sure everyone knows what's going on around Incirlik, but also a chance for the community to ask questions or voice their opinions and concerns," said Colonel Beene.
