Youth Center auctions precious art Published Feb. 15, 2011 By Tech. Sgt. Valda Wilson 39th Air Base Wing Public Affairs INCIRLIK AIR BASE, -- Children from the youth center here auctioned off artwork at a morale event held at the youth center Feb. 11. The event gave the children from the Incirlik youth center a chance to show off their art skills, and gave parents and other Incirlik community members the opportunity to place bids on the artwork. Some of the children were at the youth center during the auction and were happy to point out their creations. "It was a success, and I think the children really enjoyed making the art pieces for the auction," said Tech. Sgt. Sally White, from the 39th Medical Operations Squadron, who was instrumental in planning the auction. "And, it was a great morale boost for them to see their art displayed." Children from the school age program, ages 4-12, created most of the artwork displayed. And, there was a variety to choose from--everything from framed art to decorative candles. There was even a craft table with pillows and decorated boxes. Children from the Child Development Center here also contributed auction pieces.
