Town Hall informs Incirlik community Published March 22, 2011 By Senior Airman Anthony J. Hyatt 39th Air Base Wing Public Affairs INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey -- Col. Eric Beene, the 39th Air Base Wing commander, addressed members of the Incirlik community at a quarterly town hall meeting in the Club Complex here March 15. The town hall meeting gave the commander and other 39th ABW senior leadership the opportunity to talk to the entire Incirlik community and get feedback. Colonel Beene talked about upcoming events, inspections, visits from distinguished visitors and he addressed community concerns on recent world events. In addition, the commander reminded the group of programs and products that are available to them, such as the Action Line, the Army and Air Force Exchange System gas chip and the toll cards sold at the Outdoor Recreation Center. After the commander's opening remarks, several members of base leadership briefed the audience on their particular sections. The briefers included representatives from the 39th ABW Public Affairs office, the 39th Security Forces Squadron, the 39th Force Support Squadron, the 39th Safety office, the 39th Civil Engineer Squadron, the 39th Communications Squadron and the 39th Medical Group. Some of the major topics covered were the effects of the earthquake and Tsunamis in Japan, the current uprisings in this region, and the importance of being vigilant and prepared. Briefers also updated the audience on the statuses of construction projects around the base, on the process for issuing permanent gate passes and events sponsored by 39th FSS. The town hall also served as a forum to answer questions and address concerns from the community. The next town hall meeting is scheduled for June 21, 2011.
