Alexandre Montes 39th Air Base Wing Public Affairs INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey -- Officials at the Child Development Center here hosted a science fair and open house event for Incirlik families March 30 to promote awareness of their recent accreditation with the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Children and parents participated in hands-on activities designed around scientific principles, and enjoyed a Turkish Style dinner at the event. The accreditation ensures the CDC is meeting criteria in areas such as literacy and math and ensures a higher quality of care and a better learning environment for the children, CDC officials said. The NAEYC accreditation for youth programs is a national, voluntary accreditation system that sets professional standards for early childhood education programs, and helps families identify high-quality programs for their young children, according to the NAEYC website.
