The 39th Force Support Squadron's Fitness Center and Library sponsored a 4.2 mile cross-country relay race, "Run to Read," here April 16.

Each relay team consisted of three people and each team member was required to run a 1.4 mile leg of the race.

The purpose of the relay race was to offer the Incirlik community a diverse exercise challenge and promote teamwork.

"By offering different monthly events of this nature, we provide the Incirlik community with different exercise challenges and opportunities to build teamwork and esprit de corps." said Ernest C. Fastoldt, Jr., the 39th Force Support Squadron fitness and sports director.

The intent of the partnership with the library was to offer the participants a different perspective on fitness.

"The library is a magnificent reference and source for physical fitness improvement and having them on hand hopefully brought this to the attention of the participants," added Mr. Fastoldt.

All participants received donated books and information on what the library has to offer the Incirlik community.

Mr. Fastoldt also said maintaining physical fitness is unquestionably critical to mission success
