Software aids Airmen with security Published May 27, 2011 By Staff Sgt. Alexandre Montes 39th Air Base Wing Public Affairs INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey -- More than 20 Incirlik Airmen participated in the Integrated Defense Risk Management Process and Force Protection training at the Professional Development Center here May 9 through 13. The week-long training was designed to familiarize the Airman with the computer-based program ForcePRO and look at security vulnerabilities differently. "The course was very informative and it also gave the class a chance to work with the ForcePRO software," said Staff Sgt. Garriet Canteen, from the 39th Operations Squadron. "This has helped me open my eyes on the different threats, assets, and vulnerabilities that a base might have, helping us to determine the overall risk and how to troubleshoot it." ForcePRO is a software program developed to assist in security development and integrated-defense planning. Airmen are able to look at the vulnerabilities, assets and threats on an installation and combine them through ForcePRO. Once all three are identified, the software will create a risk trajectory, which can be used to help the base commander assess risks. "Knowing what these risks are and learning how to counteract them will help keep the installation safe," said Randall Henry, the U.S. Air Forces in Europe Headquarters integrated defense program manager and integrated defense risk management. USAFE implemented ForcePRO in 2009 to enhance training and mission capabilities for today's warfighters. Since then, Airmen at every major installation in USAFE have been given training. "As a skill that is perishable, ForcePRO will be held continuously throughout USAFE to keep the Airmen always ready," said Mr. Henry.
