Question: I recently had a dental cleaning. The technician commented about not understanding why the clinic didn't see patients before 8:30 a.m. and after 3:30 p.m. The technician further explained if they could the clinic could see eight patients a day per provider instead of six. I understand we are a small installation, however, with limited care for dependents this is a valid point. Is this the standard practice at the medical group? I would just like to know why we don't have 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. appointments.

Response: Thank you for your question. The MDG hours are currently Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., with appointments scheduled between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. This allows the clinic to effectively manage the staff time while maximizing actual patient care by providing the staff members an hour before and after appointments to accomplish other mission requirements. This prevents pulling providers and support staffs out of the clinic and away from patient care during appointment times. Again, thank you for your feedback. We do our best to ensure we can provide the best possible care to all our patients while ensuring our staffs maintain their military readiness.
