Incirlik celebrates Air Force's 65th birthday

Members of the 39th Air Base Wing gathered to celebrate the Air Force's 65th birthday with a gala at the Club Complex here Sept. 21.

Airmen and civilians gathered for food, music and camaraderie to celebrate the Air Force anniversary. Each squadron provided a display for the event showcasing their respective mission to support the wing and to compete for the grand prize, which was awarded to the 39th Security Forces Squadron.

Col. Chris Craige, 39th ABW commander, addressed the audience and discussed some of his favorite moments in Air Force history, along with pivotal points in Incirlik's lineage. The event concluded with a traditional cake cutting by the oldest and youngest Airman on base and the reciting of the Airman's Creed.
