39th Air Base Wing leadership hosted a town hall that was attended by approximately 200 Team Incirlik members Sept. 28, 2012, at the Incirlik Club Complex.

Col. Chris Craige, 39th ABW commander, greeted the attendees and introduced the wing leaders who addressed many of the happenings occurring on base such as the phone system transition, housing renovation updates, energy awareness and Halloween holiday safety.

Craige discussed operational and personal security as he reminded the community to remain vigilant and flexible.

"Our teams are meeting on a regular basis," Craige said. "Make sure to be aware of your surroundings. If we get word of anything, we will take the steps to ensure your safety."

1st Lt. Edward Weisse, 39th Communications Squadron, discussed a new initiative designed to save the base populace money on their phone bill and the steps necessary to ensure the changes occurred on their bill. For more information on the phone system changes, click here.

Maj. John Sevier, 39th Civil Engineer Squadron commander, promoted energy awareness by providing tips on "small things" such as watering lawns at the right time and using housing appliances efficiently. He also discussed upcoming base events to promote Energy Efficiency month.

Additionally, Servier addressed housing renovations, which are in their second phase and are expected to be completed between December 2012 and January 2013. Several units are receiving full interior renovations, new mechanical and electrical systems and exterior improvements.

Community members were given the opportunity ask questions before the group or to go up and ask the questions to leadership personally after the meeting.
