INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey -- Julia Souza, 39th Security Forces Squadron, received a special surprise Dec. 3, as her squadron gathered in formation as Col. Chris Craige, 39th Air Base Wing commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Nancy Judge, 39th ABW command chief, presented her with a Stripes for Exceptional Performers promotion to technical sergeant.

STEP is an incentive program that immediately promotes outstanding senior airmen, staff and technical sergeants and is based on the Airman's professional accomplishments and recommendations from their commander.

Souza was officially promoted to technical sergeant Dec. 1.
