The 39th Medical Group is hosting their annual May Fair health festival, here at the Club Complex parking lot May 29, 2017 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The May Fair health festival will be providing all military service members and civilians a variety of games and prizes, free health conscious food, free screenings and information booths from each agency within the 39th Medical Group.

“With all the agencies in the medical group—we wanted to come together and showcase the medical group mission to the Incirlik community, so that everyone, including our NATO forces, can see what we do,” said Maj. Sarah Horsford, 39th MDG Disease Manager and Healthcare Integrator.

Each agency within the 39th MDG will be hosting individual events such as: free visual screenings (Optometry), the dunk tank (Bioenvironmental), Go-Cart drunk driving simulation (ADAPT) and a push-up and plank contest (Physical Therapy), just to name a few.

The annual health festival also plays a role developing Comprehensive Airman Fitness. The 39th MDG hopes to provide a lot of resources to improve mental, physical, social and spiritual fitness, all in this one event.

“By having each agency at the fair, we will be able to speak on the different types of screenings that one should do [like eye, breast, colon, etc.] and that’ll take care of the physical; the mental health clinic and the chaplains will tie together and talk about mental, emotional and spiritual health,” said Horsford.

The fourth pillar of CAF is social fitness. According to CAF, staying connected and maintaining nurturing relationships strengthens one’s social fitness.

“Everyone is out and having fun, socializing—eating, drinking and laughing, everyone is coming together to be a part of this May Fair, that is the social pillar of Comprehensive Airman Fitness,” said 2Lt Lance Hayes, 39th MDG Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act Privacy Officer.

In addition to hosting their annual May Fair, providing tools and resources to improve mental, physical, social and spiritual fitness, their mission is to be the best clinic in the Air Force.
