Col. Jonathan A. Cabillan Lee is the Commander, 39th Mission Support Group, Incirlik Air Base, Türkiye. The 39th Air Base Wing projects global power through strategic deterrence, agile combat support, and enduring partnerships to defend U.S. interests and our NATO allies. Colonel Cabillan leads the wing's largest group comprised of seven squadrons and 1,600 U.S military, DoD and Turkish civilians, and contractors executing base operations and combat support activities across Türkiye to include geographically separated units in Ankara, Istanbul, and Izmir, Türkiye. The group provides fire, disaster and threat response, explosive ordnance disposal, CBRNE training and response, communications, network operations, family support, housing, provisions, facility engineers, environmental services, contracting, personnel management, fuel, transportation, logistics readiness, and morale, welfare, and recreation activities to assigned forces protecting U.S. and NATO interests in the region.
Col Cabillan enlisted in the Air Force in April 1987 and began his career as a Missile Systems Maintenance Specialist. In 1992, he cross-trained into Health Services Administration and served in a number of Medical Group positions before receiving his commission in 2002 as a Distinguished Graduate of Officer Training School. As a senior Cyberspace Operations Officer, he has served in a number of positions at the squadron, group, Numbered Air Force, Combatant Command, Joint Staff, and NATO levels. Prior to his current position, the Colonel was the Deputy Chief, J5 Policy Branch at NATO Joint Force Command Headquarters, Brunssum, The Netherlands.
