Marc Sasseville, Office of Defense Cooperation-Turkey Senior Defense Official/Defense Attaché; Lt. Col. Emanuel Cohan, 717th Air Base Squadron commander; and members of the 717th ABS marked the grand opening of the new base administrative building March 26, 2015, with a ribbon cutting ceremony on the Ankara Support Facility. This new building, number 2621, is located adjacent to the Base Exchange and will house the following services for all U.S. government personnel and their dependents in Ankara: the Post Office, the Traffic Management Office and the Legal Office. The administrative building, which has been under construction since March 2014, is the first certified "green" U.S. federal building in Turkey, according to Cohan. "The building is certified Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design Silver," said Cohan. "Essentially, the building is recognized best-in-class because it saves money and resources while having a positive impact on the health of occupants and a much lower operating cost than non-green buildings of similar size." The hours for each of the base service offices are listed below and will go into effect March 26.
