IAB Commissary hours to change
INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey --
Beginning March 8, 2016 the Incirlik Air Base commissary's hours will be changed to encompass early bird shopping hours 7:30 - 10 a.m. in an effort to better accommodate Airmen working odd hours.
Some commissary items like, chicken and baked goods, availability will be limited within the early bird hours.
"We will do our best to have every item available, but certain items like fresh chicken will not be available as it takes four hours to cook," said Mr. Donald Mitchell, IAB commissary store director.
With the exception of the few limited items patrons will be able to utilize the commissary to its fullest throughout the early bird hours.
"The change has been in the works for some time, but was approved as a pilot program to test its viability recently," Mitchell said. "The early bird hours were driven by local command in support of troops working odd shifts."
The success of the early bird times could mean more changes for future commissary patrons.
