The 39th Air Base Wing's safety office recently began implementing the Air Force's Culture of Responsible Choices Program. The program aims to shift airmen's perceptions, habits and actions to keep them safe and ready to fight.

Major Ken Ernewein, 39th Air Base Wing safety chief, said responsible choices affect more than just the airmen that make them.

"Every loss we have now, every time we waste a valuable resource, is more costly to the Air Force," he said.

In addition to making a renewed emphasis refining the Air Force mindset, the program places more responsibility on supervisors' shoulders to mentor Airmen from making the wrong choice.
